Gary Doster, a native of Athens, Georgia, is the author of From Abbeville to Zebulon, Early Post Card Views of Georgia and A Post Card History of Athens, Georgia. He is also the author of six other books on Georgia history. He is a certified wildlife biologist and has worked for the Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study at the University of Georgia since 1965. Gary has a lifelong interest in Georgia history and has ancestors from Oglethorpe County, Georgia, dating back to the 1790's. He is married to the former Faye Ann Thomas of Oconee County, Georgia.

A native of Georgia, Chris Ferguson grew up in the city of Atlanta where he attended Georgia State University. He has worked in the financial services area since 1974 and currently resides in Winchester, Virginia with his wife of 28 years, Melissa. This is his second book covering the Confederate history of Hollywood Cemetery. He also co-authored with Bob Krick Gettysburg Death Roster: The Confederate Dead at Gettysburg.

John J. Fox grew up in Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from Washington & Lee University with a U.S. history degree.  After school he served on active duty in the U.S. Army for seven years as an armor officer and aviator. He belongs to the Museum of the Confederacy, the Civil War Preservation Trust and is a member and past commander of Turner Ashby Camp #1567, Sons of Confederate Veterans. His newest book, The Confederate Alamo: Bloodbath at Petersburg's Fort Gregg on April 2, 1865, was released in April 2010 at Pamplin Historical Park to commemorate the 145th anniversary of the Battle of fort Gregg. His first book, Red Clay to Richmondreceived considerable critical acclaim from fellow historians and book reviewers and won two book awards. His articles have appeared in Civil War Times magazine, America’s Civil War magazine and numerous newspapers.

                    2005 James I. Robertson Jr., Literary Prize for Confederate History given by the R. E. Lee Civil War Round Table of Central New Jersey for Red Clay to Richmond.
                    2005 Jefferson Davis Historical Gold Medal given by Turner Ashby Chapter 184 UDC in Winchester, Va.

Jim was born in Quitman, Georgia, but grew up in Greenville, Florida, a small rural community just below the Georgia border. He received a BA in History from Florida State University and an MA in Political Science from the University of South Florida. Parrish served in local government administration for over twenty years, including Administrator of Leon County, Florida, before starting his own business. He and his wife lived in the St. Petersburg, Florida area for thirteen years, but have resided for the past twenty-eight years in Tallahassee, Florida. Two of Jim's great-great grandfathers served in the regiment.
